Chemical Engineering Assignment Help for UK University Students
Chemical engineering asks you to be a mathematician, a chemist, a physicist and a report writer in the same week. One deadline wants a reactor sized to a target conversion. Another wants a HAZOP table for a distillation column. A third wants a lab report with proper error analysis, due the same Friday. Our Chemical Engineering Assignment Help gives UK students worked, fully explained support on exactly these tasks, built around your brief, your module and your university's marking criteria.
You share the assignment. A subject specialist works through the engineering, shows every step of the calculation, explains the reasoning behind each assumption and presents it in the format your department expects. You get a clear model solution you can learn from, check against and use to tackle the rest of your coursework with confidence.
Why Chemical Engineering Assignments Are So Demanding
Most students do not lose marks because they have never seen the formula. They lose marks because of how the formula is applied, checked and explained. From the chemical engineering coursework we see, the same problems come up again and again:
- Picking the right model. Ideal gas or Peng-Robinson? Raoult's law or an activity coefficient model? The wrong choice early on quietly ruins every answer that follows.
- Unit errors in long calculations. A mass balance that mixes kmol/h with kg/s halfway through can be set up perfectly and still score badly.
- Unstated assumptions. Markers want to see "steady state, negligible heat loss, constant density" written down, not left for them to guess.
- Results with no interpretation. A calculated heat duty means little unless you explain what it tells you about the exchanger, the utility demand or the design.
- Discussion that only describes. Writing "the results broadly agree with theory" is one of the fastest ways to stay in the 2:2 band.
- Simulation outputs pasted without analysis. Aspen stream tables are data. The marks sit in what you say about them.
Our chemical engineering assignment help is built to fix these weak points, so the finished work reads like it was written by someone who understands the process, not someone who found an equation.
Chemical Engineering Topics Our Experts Cover
Chemical engineering is broad, and each area has its own notation, methods and marking habits. Our chemical engineering assignment experts support the full UK curriculum, from first-year fundamentals to MEng and MSc design work.
Mass and Energy Balances
This is where every chemical engineering degree starts, and where many students first fall behind. We help with steady-state and unsteady-state balances, recycle and purge streams, bypass calculations, reactive systems with extents of reaction, degree of freedom analysis and energy balances using enthalpy tables and heats of formation. Solutions are laid out stream by stream so you can follow exactly how each unknown was found.
Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics
Thermodynamics assignments go well beyond first-law problems. We cover equations of state such as Peng-Robinson and Soave-Redlich-Kwong, fugacity and departure functions, vapour-liquid equilibrium using Raoult's law, modified Raoult's law, NRTL and UNIFAC, chemical reaction equilibrium, and power and refrigeration cycles. If your module leans heavily on this area, our dedicated Thermodynamics Assignment Help service goes into even more depth.
Reaction Engineering and Chemical Kinetics
Reaction engineering assignments usually ask you to analyse or design batch reactors, CSTRs and plug flow reactors. Our support covers rate laws, the Arrhenius equation, conversion, selectivity and yield for multiple reactions, residence time distribution, non-isothermal reactors, catalytic reactions and reactors in series. Every design equation is set up clearly and checked for dimensional consistency.
Fluid Mechanics and Transport Phenomena
We help with Bernoulli and continuity problems, laminar and turbulent flow, pressure drop using the Darcy-Weisbach equation and Moody chart, pipe networks, pump sizing and NPSH, and flow through packed beds. Transport phenomena coursework on momentum, heat and mass transfer analogies is covered too. For modules focused on flow alone, see our dedicated Fluid Mechanics Assignment Help page.
Heat Transfer and Heat Exchanger Design
From conduction through composite walls to full shell-and-tube exchanger sizing, we cover LMTD and effectiveness-NTU methods, overall heat transfer coefficients, fouling factors, convection correlations and heat integration using pinch analysis.
Mass Transfer and Separation Processes
Separation assignments are some of the most calculation-heavy in the degree. We support distillation using McCabe-Thiele and Ponchon-Savarit methods, minimum reflux using the Underwood equation, the Fenske and Gilliland shortcut methods, gas absorption and stripping, liquid-liquid extraction, drying, evaporation, crystallisation and membrane separation.
Process Design and Plant Design
Process design projects usually carry the heaviest weighting in third and fourth year. We help with process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment sizing and specification, material selection, capital and operating cost estimation, economic evaluation using NPV and payback, and the written engineering judgement that ties a design report together.
Process Control and Dynamics
Our experts cover transfer functions, Laplace transforms, first and second-order system response, block diagrams, stability analysis, Bode and Nyquist plots, and PID controller tuning using methods such as Ziegler-Nichols and Cohen-Coon.
Process Safety and HAZOP Studies
Process safety is a core part of every IChemE-accredited programme. We support HAZOP studies using guide words, fault tree and event tree analysis, Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), consequence modelling, risk matrices and discussion of real incidents such as Flixborough, Piper Alpha and Buncefield.
Biochemical, Environmental and Sustainable Process Engineering
We also help with bioreactor design, Monod and Michaelis-Menten kinetics, oxygen transfer rates, wastewater treatment, carbon capture, hydrogen production, life cycle assessment and green process design. These topics increasingly appear in UK modules linked to net zero targets.
Materials and Corrosion Engineering
Materials selection for process environments, Ashby charts, corrosion mechanisms, stress corrosion cracking and prevention methods are all within scope.
Assignment Types We Help With
The format of a chemical engineering task matters as much as the topic. A problem sheet, a design report and a lab report are marked in completely different ways. Our chemical engineering assignment writing services are shaped to each format.
| Assignment Type | What We Focus On |
|---|---|
| Problem sheets and tutorial questions | Full step-by-step working, units at every line, clear final answers |
| Lab reports | Structure, data processing, uncertainty analysis, meaningful discussion |
| Technical and design reports | Justified design choices, calculations, appendices, engineering judgement |
| Process design projects | PFDs, equipment sizing, costing, safety and sustainability sections |
| Simulation assignments | Setting up or interpreting Aspen, HYSYS or MATLAB work and writing it up |
| Case studies | Applying theory to a real plant, incident or industry problem |
| Literature reviews | Critical comparison of methods and sources, not summary |
| Dissertations and research projects | Research questions, methodology, data analysis and chapter structure |
| Presentations and posters | Clear technical content with speaker notes where required |

Our Essay Help supports analytical, well-referenced essays on process safety incidents, sustainability and industry developments in chemical engineering.
Chemical Engineering Lab Report Help
Lab reports catch out a lot of students because the experiment is done in a group but the write-up is marked individually. Our chemical engineering lab report help works from your own raw data and lab sheets. We help you process the results, plot them properly, carry out error and uncertainty analysis, and write a discussion that compares your findings with theory and explains any differences with real engineering reasons.
Software and Simulation Support
Many UK modules now expect you to use industry software as well as hand calculations. Our experts support work in:
- Aspen Plus for reaction systems, distillation trains, absorption columns and sensitivity analysis
- Aspen HYSYS for gas processing, refinery flowsheets and dynamic simulation
- MATLAB and Simulink for ODE solving, reactor modelling and control system design
- Python using NumPy, SciPy and Matplotlib for numerical methods, curve fitting and optimisation
- ChemCAD and DWSIM for flowsheet construction and stream analysis
- COMSOL Multiphysics for coupled heat, mass and flow modelling
- Excel for mass balances, Solver optimisation and data processing
If you have already run a simulation, we can help interpret the output and turn it into a properly written results and discussion section. Simply upload your files with the brief.
What a Strong Answer Looks Like: A Worked Example
Here is a short example of the kind of explanation you get with our chemical engineering homework help.
Question: A liquid-phase, first-order reaction A → B has a rate constant of 0.23 min⁻¹. The feed enters at 10 L/min. What reactor volume is needed to reach 80% conversion in (a) a CSTR and (b) a PFR?
Assumptions stated: Isothermal operation, constant density, steady state, first-order kinetics so that −rA = k·CA0(1 − X).
(a) CSTR design equation: V = v₀X / [k(1 − X)]
V = (10 × 0.8) / (0.23 × 0.2) = 8 / 0.046 = 173.9 L
(b) PFR design equation: V = (v₀ / k) × ln[1 / (1 − X)]
V = (10 / 0.23) × ln(5) = 43.48 × 1.609 = 70.0 L
Interpretation: The CSTR needs about 2.5 times the volume of the PFR for the same conversion. This happens because the CSTR operates entirely at the low outlet concentration, so the reaction rate throughout the tank is at its slowest. In a design report, this result would support choosing a PFR, or several CSTRs in series, unless mixing, temperature control or cost points the other way.
That last paragraph is where most of the marks are. Numbers alone rarely earn a first. The explanation of what the numbers mean is what moves a piece of work from the 2:1 band into the 70+ range.
How We Match Your Work to UK Marking Standards
UK chemical engineering degrees are commonly accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). That means your modules are mapped to learning outcomes covering engineering science, design, safety, sustainability and professional practice. Markers are checking your work against those outcomes, not only against a numerical answer.
Here is how the grade bands usually differ in practice:
- 2:2 (50 to 59): Method mostly followed, some errors, discussion describes what happened.
- 2:1 (60 to 69): Calculations correct and well presented, discussion summarises the findings.
- First (70+): Assumptions questioned, limitations acknowledged, alternatives considered, and conclusions that interpret the results and link them back to the engineering problem.
The level of your course matters too. BEng tasks are often structured calculations with a defined route to the answer. MEng and MSc work moves towards open-ended design and research where you must justify decisions and show independent thinking.
Before any work starts, our chemical engineering assignment experts read your brief, the marking rubric and the module learning outcomes. Where you can share previous feedback from your lecturers, we use it to target the exact areas that held your marks back last time.
Referencing and Presentation Done Properly
Engineering departments in the UK usually ask for Harvard or IEEE referencing, and some use APA or Vancouver. We apply the style named in your brief, cite textbooks such as Coulson and Richardson, Perry's Chemical Engineers' Handbook, Fogler and Smith, Van Ness and Abbott correctly, and use credible journal and industry sources rather than random websites.
Equations are typed properly, figures and tables are numbered and captioned, units follow SI conventions, and appendices hold the detailed working when the brief asks for it.

Q: First-order reaction A→B, k = 0.23 min⁻¹, feed 10 L/min. Reactor volume for 80% conversion in a CSTR vs a PFR?
CSTR: V = v₀X/[k(1−X)] = 173.9 L | PFR: V = (v₀/k)·ln[1/(1−X)] = 70.0 L
The CSTR needs ~2.5× the PFR volume for the same conversion, because it operates entirely at the low outlet concentration. The interpretation of what the numbers mean is what moves work from a 2:1 into the 70+ range.
